Strap in, Nagoya! July 21st won't be your typical Sunday in the sweat capital of Japan. You know that constant beat that seems to be getting louder and louder? That's the approaching feet of pretty much anybody who is anybody in Nagoya hitting the pavement on their way to Nagoya'a premier underground scene-setter, Live & Lounge Vio in Shinsakae for CARAMEL FEST 2024.
What is Caramel Fest?
Presented by Caramel's Guitar Kitchen (CGK), a pioneering electric guitar brand from Fukuoka, and local multimedia company FORM Media, Caramel FEST is an explosion of creativity combining live music, fashion, innovation, and craft beer from Aichi's respected Totopia Brewery.
Caramel Fest will showcase a lot of extra. Stunning guitar designs, a fiery style show featuring creations by Krissy Diggs, and compelling live performances by renowned artists such as ONI, KARAS, and Dennis Lwabu. The event will be hosted by Kaori Hoshino, a singer-songwriter and actress who models for CGK guitars, delivering a whole new level of cash for our local scene.

Dennis Lwabu’s Special Band Live

Since beginning his career in 2013, Dennis Lwabu has become a prominent multi-instrumentalist in the music world. Formerly a member of the rock band Suspended 4th, he is currently the drummer for BUXUS, showcasing his inventive style. Based in Tokyo since May 2024, Dennis is known for his innovative approach to music.

A dynamic force in the Japanese music scene, ONI is a singer-songwriter from Osaka and a pivotal member of the renowned punk-rock duo Afrirampo. In 2024, she ventured solo, releasing the album "IKIMONO." Known for her tours with Sonic Youth and collaborations with Yoko Ono and Acid Mothers Temple, ONI's stage presence and originality continue to shape Japan's underground music landscape.
Her latest work includes the single "Oh!茶."

KARAS
KARAS is a versatile guitarist known for his work with the improvisational band SOLM. His eclectic and emotional guitar play, enriched with various effects, transcends traditional genre boundaries. In a recent collaboration, KARAS teamed up with Louie Swain of The Parcels and German producer Liam Mockridge to record the album "garden, snow." He frequently performs alongside notable Japanese artists like Alexandros and Scott Murphy.

About Caramel’s Guitar Kitchen
Founded in 2021 in Fukuoka, Caramel’s Guitar Kitchen is known for its unique, high-quality handmade guitars. Last year, the brand collaborated with a noted lacquer company from Fukui Prefecture to craft a special guitar. This May, they launched a limited edition ST guitar in partnership with Shimamura Musical Instruments, which sold out before its release, highlighting the brand's continued innovation and leadership in the guitar industry.

FORM Media is a multimedia company founded in Nagoya by Kurt Samson and Krissy Diggs.
