Hardcore Meets Hip-Hop
This one's for the real heads out there. On Saturday, Nov 16, Nagoya's Central 3F will host Legends Never Die 2024, a tribute event for some of the most iconic figures of our local music scene—Keishi, Karmy Joe, and Tokona-X. Organized by the unstoppable hardcore heavyweights Diedro los Diablos, this gig aims to honor these legends, celebrate their legacy, and bring the community together, the way only hardcore and hip-hop can.
This event has traditionally been a once-a-year gig, but lately, it's been happening more frequently, and with good reason—the appetite for real, authentic music experiences is alive and well. This year's edition is extra special, though: for the first time, it's embracing a crossover of hardcore and hip-hop, blending the raw energy of both genres into one hell of a night. Expect walls of sound, guttural beats, and the kind of intensity that only these scenes can bring.
Who's Playing?
NUMB (Tokyo)
NUMB has been around since 1995, bringing that N.Y.C. hardcore flavor to Tokyo. They're one of Japan's true representatives of that straight-up, no-nonsense hardcore punk, known for ferocious energy and a reputation that's nothing short of legendary. NUMB keeps it raw, and this night will be no different.
facecarz (Mie)
Coming straight outta Mie Prefecture, facecarz blends hardcore with punk, hip-hop, metal, and rock, pushing their sound into unique territory. This band has the kind of vibe that makes you feel like you're in the middle of a back alley in N.Y.C. while still repping the streets of Suzuka.
Edge of Spirit (Kobe)
Originally from Kobe but now repping Tokyo, Edge of Spirit is a melodic death metal/metalcore outfit that's all about unity, loyalty, and friendship—and their music hits like a brick wall. Edge of Spirit has that heavy, melodic blend that gets the whole crowd moving, whether you're a hardcore fan or a metalhead.

About the Venue
This year, the event is taking place at Central 3F, a nightclub located in Joshidai, a spot opened by Suku, the former owner of Emporium, Imri, 8, and Mothra. Central has quickly become a mainstay in Nagoya's nightlife scene, and for good reason. The venue's intimate yet electrifying atmosphere makes it the perfect spot for an event that's all about raw passion and energy.
The Flyer
The flyer for "Legends Never Die 2024" was designed by E.N.D., one of Tokyo's most prolific hardcore artists. If you've seen their work before, you know the vibe—hard-hitting, gritty, and straight from the streets. It's a perfect visual intro to the night that lies ahead.
A Word from the Organizers
