The Kings of the Revolution Japan Tour
Have you been beating your head against a hard concrete wall, getting wristy for some Australian Rock? If so, your moment has arrived. On Thursday, June 27, four explosive acts—Australia's Shotgun Mistress and Karly Jewell, Japan's Blasting Rod, and Black Market— will take the stage at Huck Finn.
Shotgun Mistress (Australia)
This Melbourne-based hard rock band delivers high-octane performances with a modern edge, seamlessly blending modern hard rock with classic rock influences. Their music is characterized by powerful guitar riffs, serious drum skilz, and dynamic vocals. Notable tracks like "Save Me from Myself," "Glorious Machine," and "Collide" have received acclaim for their energy and craftsmanship.
Band Members:
Matt Wilcock (Guitar): Matt is well-known in the extreme metal scene, having been a member of prominent bands such as The Berzerker, Akercocke, and Abramelin. Wilcock has brought his exceptional guitar talents to Shotgun Mistress, a band he formed in 2018. The band's sound combines elements of rock and metal with catchy, sing-along choruses.
Before forming Shotgun Mistress, Wilcock played in various metal bands worldwide, establishing a reputation as one of Australia's most gifted guitarists. His musical influences include Guns N' Roses and Slash, and author Joel McIver has named him among the top 100 metal guitarists.
David Lee (Drums): Lee's drumming adds intensity and depth to Shotgun Mistress's music.
Ben Curnow (Bass): Curnow's grooves provide a solid and driving bass foundation and are the backbone of the band's robust sound.
Glenn Patrick (Frontman) Patrick adds charisma and magnetism to the band's performance.
Karly Jewell (Australia)
With her distinctive voice and commanding stage presence, Karly Jewell and her four-piece, hard-hitting, riff-driven band are a force to be reckoned with. Jewell, a Melbourne singer-songwriter, creates music that is complex to describe. Think of it as a raw blend of rock, alternative, and punk, with lyrics that cut deep with emotion. Jewell and her band put out high-energy live shows that have won her a dedicated following. For a sample of what this act has in store, check out "Sad Girl," which is hitting some serious numbers. Expect a performance that is as engaging as it is electrifying.
Blasting Rod (Japan)
These cats make trippy guitar riffs and meld them with a psycho-rock sensibility.
Black Market (Japan)
Known for its Doom Rock, this band from Gifu makes Bleak seem like a cheerful description of a good day at the slaughterhouse. That's about all we got.
Don't Miss Out!
This gig promises a night of high-octane performances from four dynamic acts. Whether you're a fan of hard rock, alternative, punk, or experimental sounds, this event at Huck Finn will surely be an unforgettable experience.
