Enjoy a Piece of Beer Paradise!
Belgium is known as a "Beer Paradise" for good reason. Despite its small size compared to Tokyo or the Kanto region, it boasts a whopping 430 breweries producing over 1,600 different types of beer.
These beers are not just any run-of-the-mill zatte piet; they represent a fusion of modern innovation and brewing traditions honed for over a thousand years, making Belgian beer styles the most diverse and original in the world. In fact, Belgian beer culture has even been recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016.
Truth bomb dropped!
Now, you can immerse yourself in this rich beer culture right here in Nagoya at the Belgian Beer Weekend (a.k.a. BBW.) The BBW is an event dedicated to celebrating everything about Belgian beer. It started in Japan in 2010, drawing 15,000 visitors over three days, and has since grown into one of Japan's largest events, attracting over 1.5 million attendees across several major cities over the past 14 years.
At BBW, you can share the Belgian beer experience with friends, make new connections, soak in the lively atmosphere, groove to live music and indulge in delicious Belgian fries ("frites"). It's not just a festival; it's an opportunity to expand your knowledge of Belgian beer and create unforgettable memories. So, whether you're a beer enthusiast or simply looking for a fun time out, the Belgian Beer Weekend promises an experience like no other!
