COA Makes A Big Move!
In Nagoya's bustling nightlife scene, an exciting change is coming to one of the city's longest-running international pubs. The Coat of Arms, which has been delighting patrons since 2013, is moving to a prime location near Fushimi Station – a move that marks an exciting new chapter for this fixture of Nagoya's expat community.
The pub's journey from hidden gem to beloved sports bar has been remarkable. Over the past decade, Coat of Arms has earned its place in Nagoya's international scene through genuine hospitality and dedication to creating a true sports-watching destination. Their new location near Fushimi Station will make them even more accessible.
Changing Locations, Keeping Character
The Coat of Arms' relocation marks the end of an era of giving directions through Nagoya's back streets. Their new home, Fushimi Station, sits at the crossing of two major Nagoya Subway routes - the Higashiyama and Tsurumai lines. The move places the pub right in the heart of one of Nagoya's most vibrant nightlife districts, where finding your way is as simple as following the station signs. For regulars and newcomers alike, this central Fushimi location transforms a hidden gem into an easily accessible destination.
Enhanced Food & Drink Experience
While Coat of Arms has always taken its food seriously, the new location brings exciting opportunities. The kitchen upgrade will allow them to expand their authentic grill cuisine centered around meat dishes. They're currently experimenting with new internationally inspired dishes that were previously impossible to prepare, promising to bring even more authentic flavors to Nagoya's dining scene.
A New Vision for Sports Entertainment
The bar is evolving beyond traditional sports broadcasting to create deeper connections within the sporting community. While they'll continue showing fan favorites like soccer and baseball, they're expanding their coverage to include basketball, rugby, volleyball, and other emerging sports. Their partnership with the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins basketball team is just the beginning – they plan to develop more sports team partnerships and create new ways for fans to engage with their favorite sports.

Timeline and Transition
But if you haven't had the chance to visit - or if you are a regular who is out of the loop - there's still time! The current location will continue operating until December 28, 2024, with the new Fushimi spot scheduled to open in February 2025. The timing aligns with broader changes in the Fushimi area, which has seen several international venues establish themselves in recent years. While the move was necessitated by redevelopment, they're embracing it as an opportunity to create something even better in one of Nagoya's most vibrant areas.
